We Need To Talk
By Stanley Collymore
I don’t want to forcibly change you or coerce
you into doing anything that you don’t want to,
as that won’t solve the problems that persist
between us. I just want you to recognize
that our problems do exist, that they’re
real and not some surreal figment of my
imagination; and in doing so, hopefully as
well, persuade you to acknowledge that our
relationship is going nowhere and in all likelihood
will unfortunately disappear never to restart, and
with all the possible dire consequences for us
were that regrettable situation to happen,
without a thoughtful evaluation of
our position, or where we’re
truly heading on your part.
